The Future is Intent
Crypto and AI spent five years building the same thing. Neither realized. Please kiss.
Crypto built solver networks.
Intent schemas.
Verification infrastructure.
Economic security.
Then stopped more or less at swaps and bridges.
AI built language understanding. Tool use. Autonomous reasoning.
Then stopped mostly at chatbots and chatbot wrappers.
A prompt is an intent.
“Swap 100 USDC for USDC.”
“Book me the cheapest flight to NYC.”
Same structure. Declarative goal. Constraints. Outcome. Figure it out.
An agent is a solver.
Competing executors. Best execution wins. Market finds the optimal path.
A workflow is a transaction (or function) bundle.
Composed operations. Atomic or nothing.
A function call is a smart contract.
Discrete. Callable. Composable.
Same system. Opposite ends.
The Gap
Crypto can verify outcomes.
“Did wallet X receive ≥99 USDC?” Yes or no. On-chain. Done.
AI can’t verify anything really yet.
“Was the email good?” Who knows. “Did the task complete correctly?” Trust me bro.
This is why AI agents are amazing but still a little bit toys.
No verification. No consequences. No delegation.
Crypto solved this. AI hasn’t.
The Inversion
Current agents wait for commands.
That’s backwards.
In the intent world, agents watch your context. They propose. You approve.
You’re not the commander anymore.
You’re the approver.
Welcome to the reaction economy.

Both built half the stack.
The Ask
It’s not 2021 anymore.
Dear crypto: agents are solvers with natural language interfaces.
Dear AI: verification and incentives aren’t optional. They’re the whole game.
The primitives exist.
They’re in different Discords.

This post was written in one session using Claude Opus 4.5 through a tool I change every day. I dumped a mess of voice notes, discussions, and half-formed bullet points into the context window and we shaped it together through a few editing passes. The ideas are mine, the speed is new.
